The East Coast Model Railway

This magnificent photograph, from Dr David Turner, "Promoting the main line with models", shows a Gauge 2 electric LNWR 'Experiment' heading a train of wood construction coaches on the model West Coast layout built by Bassett Lowke for the LNWR Company in 1908. A similar layout was built for the East Coast Companies, also in Gauge 2.

A locomotive similar to this one survives in Adam Goodyear's collection and ran successfully at the G1MRA 75th anniversary show at Bicester, UK.
